Apply oil to lubricate both main shafts.
Align the hooks with the safety pins over the spring.
Position the sets of hooks 180° apart from each other.
Lock the safety pins into position on the hooks.
Use a 3/4" or 19mm socket and ratchet to turn the main shaft, compressing the strut spring sufficiently to remove the fastener nut holding the cartridge.
